Hands down my favorite dining experience in such a long time! Soul food at its finest! You absolutely taste how much love goes into each dish! The shrimp and grits wholeheartedly knocked my socks off! This family owned business has been around for over 50 years and it absolutely makes sense how and why when you visit! Everyone is so nice and attentive! The woman making the desserts and food was such a breath of fresh air to talk to! You can tell how much of a perfectionist she is with the food! Even the coffee tastes amazing there! Small and large details make every bit of the experience legendary! If you like soul food prepared with love this should be your next meal!

I use to love this place. I walked in no one said a thing to me. The prices were higher but that's fine everything is higher. Food came out, they forgot the cheese in my eggs. The turkey patty was not that tasty (get some Mommas Turkey or chicken, the customers will love it) never once did anyone come over to say how is everything or ask did I need anything. The pancake was extra large and was a bit tasty. I think this was my last trip to what was a very fine neighborhood location.

What a great find! Small family owned restaurant with outdoor seating in Altadena. Random find for us and it was SUCH A GOOD FIND! The Food was DELICIOUS and the coffee (which was our concern) did NOT DISAPPOINT… Delicious! The owner and staff were so friendly… we felt like at home. Highly recommend it.

First, Im glad this place survived the pandemic. It's like they built a cafeteria in someone's kitchen. The food has potential, but was too greasy to enjoy. The bread was thin and toasted so long it was basically a croutons. The meat patty was dry and lacked flavor.
I have ordered the food through delivery apps, and it seems to taste better that way.

Really can't rate this place since it's never open when I try to check it out. Haven't eaten here since I was a kid late 70's early 80's when the mom was still there. Tried going several times after I think the daughter took over but they weren't open, even when I came during posted hours. They seem to open after their posted times which is way too late for breakfast for me anyway. Will change when I finally get a chance to eat there.
